GSBS was hired by the state to complete full architectural services for the new 150,000 sf health science education building at the West Jordan Campus of Salt Lake Community College. The new building includes medical training space for various programs at the college, including biotechnology, medical assistant, medical lab, nursing, occupational therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiologic technology, surgical, health administration, a therapy clinic, a student wellness center, a library, a lecture hall, commons area, general science and building support. It was important to include features that provide a healthy environment for the students and faculty, such as quality indoor air and natural daylighting in classrooms and common areas.
