GSBS designed a facility for the Jewish Community Center to welcome the community to swim, exercise, play, learn, and gather without limits. Members and guests can choose between the outdoor beach-edge recreation and competition pool, the indoor lap pool, the hot water spa, the gym, the climbing wall, or the fitness center.

As with all of our state-of-the-art fitness centers, the JCC has excellent acoustics, sprung-wood floors in dance/aerobics areas and mat floors in weight rooms, flexible electrical systems to support a variety of health equipment, mechanical systems that create a “fresh air” environment with adequate air movement and humidity controls, open-air designs with lots of external and internal views, natural lighting, and accessibility.

Daylighting, accessibility, and further technical innovations are all integral to the new JCC aquatic features. The JCC’s outdoor pool includes a full perimeter deck level gutter system which provides enhanced skimming capabilities and a safer method of drawing water. The indoor pool utilizes 98% efficient low-emission heaters for environmental control and energy savings. The equipment room also includes a chemical detection system which alerts the pool operator if there is a chemical overflow or spill, and all chemical storage containers are filled via a remote fill station located over 200 feet away from the equipment room.
