In addition to the design and technology features that help make GSBS pools and recreation centers some of the most fun and rewarding spots in Utah, the Holladay Lion's Fitness and Recreation Center wanted the most accessible pool in the United States. They wanted a pool where people with disabilities could participate in all swimming activities and enjoy the Center with their friends and families.

GSBS designed a pool that can be accessed five different ways for all levels of swimmers’ abilities and disabilities. Special features for visually impaired swimmers, such as tile textures and color contrasts to help with poolside accessibility (without emphasizing the feature to the casual observer) and natural lighting to keep the glare off the water. Family change rooms are available for assisting family members who have disabilities.

The Holladay Lion's Fitness and Recreation Center Fitness includes an aerobics center, a weight room, fully-accessible locker rooms, and family change rooms (the center is designed for a future gymnasium). The center also has excellent acoustics, sprung-wood floors in dance/aerobics areas and mat floors in weight rooms, flexible electrical systems to support a variety of health equipment, mechanical systems that create a “fresh air” environment with adequate air movement and humidity controls, open-air designs with lots of external and internal views, and natural lighting.
