The challenge to GSBS in Beaver County was to incorporate seven separate functions in one facility. In the program and design, GSBS synthesized each group's needs, and planned the space and circulation accordingly, respecting state and county delineations. Transportation of prisoners from secured to court areas required particular attention. Construction was completed one month ahead of schedule. The facility is nearly 60,000 sf and consists of 192 beds, a Sheriff’s office, state and justice courtrooms, clerks’ offices, judges’ champers, 911 dispatch, and highway patrol offices.
